How To Coupon
Couponing is actually very easy once you get the hang of it. I will show you how, explain the lingo, show various ways of organizing coupons, explain the stores coupon policy and the manufacturers policy. These will all be broken down into separate posts, so make sure you guys check back often to stay updated!
All stores will let the consumer redeem manufacturer coupons along with store coupons. Yes, you can use two different coupons on the same product! You cannot use two manufacturer coupons on the same product. For example, I can go to Target to buy a tube of Colgate toothpaste and use a Colgate coupon along with a Target coupon but I cannot use two Colgate coupons for one tube of toothpaste. The same goes for using two store coupons on the same product. Most manufacturer coupons allow four identical coupons in the same transaction.
Never ever use a coupon just because you have it, that is a sin in the couponing world! Stores and manufacturers rely on the consumer to do this, they want us running to the store in hopes of luring us in so we can spend more money, but us being frugal will never fall for that scam again! We ONLY use coupons on top of sale prices for greater savings, and most of the time we will get free things. I will show you how to get everyday brand name household items for free or for pennies. If any of you have watched extreme couponing on TLC, you will know that was too extreme and too good to be true, we will not be getting free groceries, the majority of what we will be getting for free will be cleaning supplies and toiletries.
We will mainly be using coupons at Target, Shoprite and CVS. Yes!, you read that right, CVS, by far my favorite store to use coupons! They have a very easy to follow coupon policy that is great for beginners to understand. Target, need I say more? Who doesn’t love Target?! They also have a very good coupon policy and allow us to triple stack (I will explain that in a later post). Shoprite is my favorite grocery store to use coupons at, they have great prices as well as being extremely coupon friendly.
Most stores with the exception of Walgreens do allow more coupons than products in the same transcation, I will get to Walgreens in a later post, they have a tricky coupon policy to follow.
