Doubling Coupons
Hey guys I’m back with another great couponing tip, this time it’s Doubling Coupons! Most grocery stores will double manufacturer coupons up to .99, it depends on which state you live in, there are a few non doubling coupon states, and there are also some states that triple coupons!
I know for a fact NY is a double coupon state, if you need to find out if you live in a doubling state I suggest you call the grocery store you want to know for because all the stores have different coupon policies. For now, we will be talking about doubling, if you have a coupon for .75 it turns into 1.50, but this only applies to grocery stores, NOT pharmacies or big box stores like Target or Walmart.
Some manufacturer coupons do say at the top DO NOT DOUBLE, and most stores will NOT double those coupons, my local Shoprite will, so if you live near a Shoprite make sure to check with your local store to see if they do double coupons with those restrictions. Every manufacturer coupon a store accepts gets reimbursed for the face value of a coupon, plus they get paid .8 to accept the coupon.
So if you go to Shoprite, and you give a .75 coupon, Shoprite gets reimbursed 1.58 to accept that coupon, that is why some manufacturers puts restrictions on doubling coupons, the manufacturers are paying the store more to accept that coupon. My local Shoprite will double a coupon even if it says DO NOT DOUBLE, the store eats the cost of the difference, most grocery stores do not do this, and that is why I love Shoprite!
