Money Saving Apps
Mobile saving apps are great because they really let you maximize your savings, you can redeem any of the offers, even if you have used store and manufacturer coupons. You do need a smartphone to download the app. Currently there are 3 apps to be able to get extra money from, but I am also going to cover the Walmart app here.
If you want to learn more about Target Cartwheel you can check out this post: Target Coupon Policy.
The first is MobiSave, you need to click on the offer you want before you shop, once you have purchased the item(s) on your list, all you have to do is submit your store receipt by taking a picture of your receipt, then it will be transferred into a PayPal account, you do need a PayPal account for this app.
The great thing about this app is you don’t need a certain amount of money in your account in order for it to be transferred, this app in my opinion is the easiest way to get the money. For example, right now MobiSave is offering $.10 off any dish soap brand, so all I have to do is click the offer I want, click the shopping cart on the top right , then click redeem, once I click redeem, it brings up the camera to take a picture of the receipt, take the picture and submit the receipt to process. It usually takes them about 5 minutes to confirm the receipt is valid, and once it’s validated, your PayPal account is $.10 richer!
Money Saving Apps Checkout 51
The next one is Checkout 51, again you do need a smartphone to download this app, but you do not need a PayPal account. All you have to do is click on the offer you want, then click claim it, take a picture of your receipt and submit it.
Checkout 51 does say it can take 48 hours to process your receipt but it has never taken me that long, once you have accumulated at least $20.00 they will mail you a check. The check can take anywhere from 5 to 15 business days to arrive to you. Right now Checkout 51 is offering $.25 back on tomatoes, so I have to do is purchase tomatoes, click on tomatoes to claim my offer, upload my receipt and click submit to get my rebate.
It does depend on the offers how many times you can redeem the offer, but it does let you know once you click the offer you want. Again with this app, it is very easy to use.
Money Saving Apps Ibotta
Next up is Ibotta, this one is a little bit more tedious and that’s why I saved it for last! With MobiSave and Checkout 51, you do NOT have to verify the products barcode or which store you purchased the item at, with Ibotta you HAVE to. Also, with Ibotta you have to take short polls, surverys or watch videos (anywhere from 15 – 30 seconds long).
Currently Ibotta has over 100 stores where you can earn money from. You do also need a smartphone so you can download the app. For example Ibotta currently has a $2.00 Similac Advance or Similac Sensitive rebate available at Walmart, so first I need to click the Similac formula I want, then click unlock $2.00, and watch a video, take a poll or survey, once that is completed I have completed my requirements to get that offer.
Now I have to verify that purchase by clicking “verify purchase” which will scan the barcode, then take a picture of receipt for which store you unlocked the offer for. Once all of the information has been submitted, it takes about 10 minutes for you to get into your account, you do not need PayPal for this, but you can have all the money earned transferred into your PayPal account.
Ibotta does have a $20.00 minimum balance to be transferred, you can choose giftcards at different retailers such as: Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora or iTunes and more. I know Ibotta seems a little bit more complicated than the others but this is the best money saving app in my opinion.
Now, Walmart isn’t really a money saving app with it’s own rebates but it also is! You do need a smartphone to be able to download this app. Walmart really does have the best prices around, and on top of the best prices they made it even easier for you to save with the Walmart app!
First you need to download the Walmart app, shop at Walmart for whatever it is you want, then click on savings catcher in the app, click add a receipt, it automatically reads your receipt, once that has been processed Walmart then scours 32 different competitors for price matching up to 14 days.
For example, I just bought Pampers Baby Dry Diapers on sale at Target for $8.49, Walmart’s regular price is $8.98, so they gave me a refund on to a Walmart giftcard for $.49, I also have the option to let that gift card balance accumulate or I can cash out at any time. Isn’t that easy enough especially if we don’t have to do any of the work?! I really have been more drawn to Walmart because of how easy it is to save there.
