This is a “Family” sign I made with supplies found in the dollar section at Target. The total cost of this sign was $6! The picture frame was also from Target on clearance for $10.48 marked down from $34.99. I left the rest of the wall empty in the picture because there is another great DIY project on the way!
Supplies Needed:
Chalkboard Sign ($3 in the Target Dollar Section $3)
Family Stickers ($3 in the Target Dollar Section $3)
Mod Podge
Pencil
Level
Masking Tape (read below to know why!)
Directions:
First hang the sign on the wall with masking tape, so you’ll know if it’s level to mark your lines.
I’m sorry but I could not hold the level and draw a straight line across the board while taking a picture, so this will have to do! Once the sign is taped on the wall and secure, take the level and draw a straight line across with a pencil, the measurements of the stickers are 2-1/2″ in height. Measure from top of where you want the stickers to be to the bottom 2-1/2, once you know where, mark on the board with the level of where the stickers will be placed. Once you have that done, go ahead and proceed to the next step.
Make sure your stickers lay out exactly how you want it look, again I’m sorry for this crappy picture, it really is even! It just doesn’t look that way in this picture because of how it was taken! Once it looks the way you want, start with the letter “f”, then start with “y”, work from opposite ends so it’s the most even as possible! I used Mod Podge for the stickers because I was having a hard peeling the paper off and I also wanted those extra few seconds to get the proper placement of the letters! For those of you that don’t have Mod Podge at home, read here for a DIY Recipe: DIY Mod Podge
This is just a picture of me laying out the stickers and Mod Podging them on!
Once you have that completed, this is what it’ll look I like…..
Another final shot on the wall!
