This picture frame was just made with a few dollars in supplies, this is a picture of my kids from last Christmas, I can’t believe how big the baby has gotten! Sorry to reminisce, it’s just sad when I look at how big she is now! Anyways, enough of the rambling and on with the craft!
First, I started with a 4×6 rectangular wood plaque I found at Walmart for $.97 and I also used a wallet size print, that is what I had on hand. I had them left over from last year, but you can order them online anywhere, for some reason you cannot order them through the CVS app but you can order them through the regular site.
I painted the frame first with Ceramcoat paint in white, I found these in the dollar spot at Target, but you can definitely find these in any craft stores. Then I painted the scroll frame, the scroll frame is from Hobby Lobby and came in a pack of 4 different frames on sale for $1.99, you can find them here: http://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Wood-Crafting/Unfinished-Wood/Laser-Cut-Ornate-Wood-Photo-Frames/p/80659157
While the frame was drying, I stained the “Merry Christmas” tag with Rustoleum stain in Dark Walnut. This is the stain that dries in 1 hour and I LOVE it! It really doesn’t matter for something this small but IT matters when you’re doing a big project! The “Merry Christmas” sign, I found last year in Target at the dollar spot, they came in a package of 6 for $1.00. I did see something similar at Michael’s this year!
Then while the frame and the sign were drying, I Hot glued the picture to the frame, after that was done I took the scroll frame and laid it on top of the picture and hot glued the frame over the picture.
Yes, laziness gets the best of me and I didn’t bother painting the back!
Then I added the “Merry Christmas” sign under the picture and also used hot glue for that.
Next, I added these 2 little red bow stickers in the top corners, I found these stickers in the dollar section at Target.
That’s it! Ten minutes to make and a few dollars in supplies! I’m making a bunch of different frames to hand out for Christmas gifts! Make sure you guys stay tuned for more crafts!
As usual, if you guys have any questions or comments please feel free to email me or comment in the box below and I will get back to you as soon as possible! Happy Crafting!
