Hey guys, I’m back with another quick and easy recipe! This is one of my family’s favorite appetizers, I usually make this in the summer and without the flag but we are heading out to a Memorial Day BBQ and I wanted to make something festive, so this is what I came up with!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
1 lb Ground Turkey
1 Packet Taco Seasoning
1/4 Head Iceberg Lettuce
2 Beefsteak Tomatoes
1 Cup Shredded Mexican Cheese
1/2 Can Small Pitted Black Olives
16 oz Sour Cream
Salt & Pepper
1 Package Tortilla Chips
STEP 1:
Cook the ground Turkey until lightly browned then add the Taco seasoning packet along with salt & pepper, sorry I forgot to take a picture, we were in such a rush to leave!
STEP 2:
While the turkey is cooking, cut off 1/4 head of lettuce and thinly slice it.
STEP 3:
Set the shredded lettuce aside and dice up the tomatoes, I don’t seed the tomatoes for this.
STEP 4:
Set the tomatoes aside, by now the turkey should be done, remove the turkey from the pan and cool off on a plate to room temperature, this is very important because the turkey goes on top of the lettuce and there is nothing worse than wilted lettuce!? Layer the bottom of your dish with the shredded lettuce, then add the turkey on top.
STEP 5:
Now add the sour cream on top of the turkey and spread it in a thin layer.
STEP 6:
Layer the diced tomatoes and the shredded cheese on top, the tomatoes will have 4 row, 2 of the rows are half rows and the shredded cheese will have 3 rows, 1 of them a half row. You can see in the picture below.
Again, sorry for the really bad pictures but we were in such a rush!
STEP 7:
Now add the black olives to the top left corner, I didn’t bother chopping the olives but you can if you want!
STEP 8:
Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
