Hey guys, I’m back with another great and quick DIY craft! I’ve also included a free printable in the link below! There are so many ways you can make this without a Silhouette or Cricut. The method I chose was a little bit more time consuming only because the kiddos lost some of my supplies but I will be making more of these with different methods you can do at home, the best part of this is, you probably already have all of these supplies on hand! This took me about an hour and a half to make. The wood will cost about $6 and depending on what supplies you have, you can expect to pay another $10!

STEP 1:
Cut the 1 x 6 to 24 inches long, if you don’t have a saw the guys at Home Depot or Lowes will cut it for you. After you made your cut, stain the wood. I chose Varathane in Briarsmoke, let that sit for about 5 minutes before rubbing the stain off.
STEP 2:
While the stain is drying, take the “Choose Happiness” and Leaf Stems Printable and flip it over to its back. Color hard enough with a pencil over the words – this step is important because this will be traced onto the wood, so make sure you press hard with the pencil!
After you have colored everything cut the paper to size, this step doesn’t have to be perfect, you just want to fit the paper onto the wood!
STEP 3:
Once the stain has dried you can now tape your paper onto the wood, any kind of tape will do!
STEP 4:
Now is the fun part! Once everything is taped carefully trace the words and the stems with a ballpoint pen. You will be tracing on the paper and pressing a little hard so that way the pencil will show on the wood. Every now and then carefully lift the paper to make sure everything traced, because you don’t want to do what I did and check afterwards to only see you missed some parts! You can see in the pictures below what I traced with the pen. Sorry for the bad pictures but I did this late at night after everyone went to bed!
STEP 5:
Now that everything is traced, outline everything with a fine tip black marker.
STEP 6:
Now that everything is outlined, color everything in with a black sharpie.
That’s it! The most time consuming part was coloring everything with the pencil! Let me know what you guys think by commenting in the box below!
Also, if you want to make this or share it on social media, please link back here, I spent a lot time making these so I could give something away for free, it would take a lot less time to link back here!
