Hey guys, I’m very sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Target is ending the Target Cartwheel App. According to Target they will be continuing with Cartwheel offers it would just be in the Target app. I know just recently Target announced that they were getting rid of the Target Cartwheel perks loyalty program, which was only available in 5 major cities. I do hope they continue with all the Cartwheel discounts, that’s what makes Target so great, with all the ways they help consumers to save money!
They have been making a lot of major changes in recent months, like getting rid of 12 major lines synonymous with Target. I really hope Target doesn’t try to hard to be like Walmart but I think that’s what they are aiming to do, don’t get me wrong, I do like Walmarts prices but Target is Target for a reason – because they are not Walmart! Target makes it enticing to walk through their stores and Walmart does not, at least not the Walmarts by me! If you guys are regular Target shoppers you may have noticed they started adding all these red tags (see below) to certain products, which is what Walmart does with their stores.
I just really hope that whatever direction Target chooses to go, they do not get rid of the Dollar Spot. A few years ago, there were rumors that Target was planning on eliminating the Dollar Spot because customers complained it was too messy to look at. Well, fast forward a few years and the Dollar Spot is still here! I did ask a Target employee about it and she did tell me there no plans to get rid of it, so I guess we can all hope for the best!
Supposedly, Target is revamping to compete with Amazon which recently just took over Whole Foods. On a side note, Amazon announced it would be slashing Whole Foods prices and they will be offering special discounts to Prime Members! I don’t know about you guys but I never shop at Whole Foods because of their high prices, so this will be very interesting to see what Amazon does!
