Best Stores To Shop On Black Friday
Hey guys, I am back with my list of Hey guys, I’m back with more great shopping tips, these are the Best Stores To Shop On Black Friday because of their insane deals! I am giving you all my tips for shopping Black Friday and the best places to go for a particular item. When I say Black Friday, I do mean Thanksgiving night because that is when pretty much all the stores open with the exception of a few. The stores that do not open on Thanksgiving are Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls. I’m sure there are other stores that do not open, I’m just giving you guys a basic idea.
Most of the Black Friday ads will be leaked starting the first week of October until Mid November, so you see, we only have a few weeks to plan! I will not be posting the Black Friday ads until the company has it listed on its website, Home Depot started coming down on people posting their Black Friday Ad last year before they shared it and I do think more companies will be following in Home Depot’s footsteps. As soon as I see the ads I will let you guys know what’s worth buying and what to ditch!
Kohl’s
If you absolutely hate going out shopping just to grab a few things, I don’t blame you, it’s crazy out there! I love shopping online at Kohl’s for toys, the past few years they have started their Black Friday sale on toys the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
The toys are always at least 50% off! Sometimes you can find an even greater discount on the toys and Kohl’s always offers Kohl’s cash for Thanksgiving weekend. They offer $15 Kohl’s cash for every $50 you spend, so when you buy a toy at 50% off and you receive $15, that savings winds up being more than 50% savings, my rule with toys is – if it says 50% off or more, than it is a great deal!
Ulta
Ulta is another one of my faves! They always have great discounts on Bare Minerals (which happens to be my favorite brand of makeup). The past few years Ulta had a Bare Minerals lip gloss and blush set for $15, that is a really good deal!
If you do like brand name makeup, make sure you sign up for Ulta rewards and sign up for their emails, starting the first or second week of December they always send me a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase of $100 or more INCLUDING prestigious cosmetic brands. Like I said before, Bare Minerals is my favorite brand so I take the 20% coupon and stock up on the Bare Minerals Deluxe Foundation for the year, by doing that I saved myself more than $200 to buy the foundation in the deluxe size!
I’m sorry but I’m not too familiar with Sephora and their Black Friday sales, all the Sephoras by me are in malls and I stay far away from malls during the Holidays!
Michaels
Michaels is a must for me for Holiday Decor! The past few years they had their Christmas decor marked 60% off, and on Thanksgiving night and Black Friday they have a coupon for an additional 30% off. The coupon you could use all of Thanksgiving night and Friday until noon. If you cannot make it in on those days, Michaels does offer coupons all weekend long but the coupon is for either 20% off or 25% and it also has time limits on it.
The last 2 years they also had Wilton gingerbread house kits for $7 each, which is a must buy at that price! You cannot use the coupon towards the gingerbread houses. Also, a must for me is their brand Creatology. The Christmas crafts for kids are usually starting at $1 each and they always marked it down for Black Friday.
I have a tradition with my kids to let them do one Christmas craft starting Thanksgiving night up until Christmas Eve, so that definitely helps me with saving money on crafts!
I am not familiar with Hobby Lobby’s past Black Friday sales because I had never been to one until recently, don’t judge, we finally got our first Hobby Lobby on Long Island back in June! Believe me, I will make myself very familiar with their Black Friday sales! As soon as I do, I will let you know!
Target
Another one of my favorite stores to go is Target for household items and some toys. Since I have been shopping Black Friday, Target is a store I never turn down!
Last year I was able to get the Shark Navigator Vaccuum for $100 marked down from $180. That may not be the best deal on a Vaccuum but I really wanted it! Yes, it’s very strange what I get excited about! Anyways, the past years I have also gotten a down alternative comforter for $30, small kitchen appliances and a few toys.
If you want their Christmas decor I suggest waiting for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the past 3 years Target has offered a $15 coupon good for any future purchase if you spend $75 on Holiday Decor. I like to use the coupon for diapers and formula, it helps offset the costs of kids! The past 2 years, Target has offered a toy at 50% off everyday from November 1st to December 24th with Target Cartwheel, they make it so easy to save and that’s why it’s on my list!
One store that I refuse to go to is Walmart because it gets too crazy there, Walmart actually has the highest crime rate for Black Friday shopping. In my opinion, it’s just not worth it to save a few bucks. They do have great deals on electronics but those are usually doorbuster deals, doorbuster deals means you have to go to the store to purchase the item and the price is not valid online.
Home Depot
If you want to purchase tools I suggest buying it from Home Depot. I cannot comment about Lowes because I have never shopped a Lowes Black Friday sale. Tools rarely go on sale, but you will notice both Home Depot and Lowes offering sales on tools. A couple of years ago, I bought a Ryobi Miter Saw from Home Depot for $100 marked down from $130, I know that doesn’t seem like significant savings but like I said before, tools rarely go on sale, so if there is a tool you want, wait til Black Friday to save a few dollars. Every penny counts!
Costco
Another store I do not do Black Friday shopping from is Costco, because I do not think they have great deals. The deals they offer on Black Friday to me resembles their sales every month, it’s just not that good compared to the other stores. One thing I will say about Costco is their toys and a lot of people will argue with me and say the toy prices are nothing spectacular, and they are right about certain things but this is where I like to be different and cause a stir!
First, Costco always gets the top toys in and they do offer good prices, 2 years ago I was able to buy a Kidkraft Disney Cars Radiator Springs table for $130 that other stores were selling for $250! That is a huge savings! Another big ticket item I was able to buy that same year was a rocking horse for $40, other retailers were selling the exact same one for $120.
The only problem with shopping from Costco is you have to buy these items in September or October. Last year I did not buy any toys from Costco only because I did the majority of my toy shopping on Amazon. This year I do plan to do the bulk of my shopping from Costco again.
The best stores for Electronics would definitely be Best Buy, Target, Walmart and Amazon. I’m not into electronics and thank the heavens my kids aren’t asking for electronics yet! I cannot comment on my experience with buying them because I have none! One thing I do have experience with is shopping sales and I will say this, for the best deals with Electronics – shop the front page, that doesn’t just go for Black Friday that’s for year round.
The front page of any ads are known as the loss lurers, they lose money luring you into the store in hopes of you spending more money. So, if there a particular item you want always look at the front page for all the stores ads. I know last year I was looking for a TV for one of my kids’ rooms and Amazon had a TV on sale for $75 marked down from $250.
Amazon
Amazon does make my list of best places to shop because of Prime. I really don’t think they have great deals on too many items besides electronics but they do make it pretty damn easy to shop! The bulk of my shopping last year was done with Amazon only because there were a lot ot items I still needed and wanted to get last minute and with Prime I was guaranteed to get the item in time.
If you plan on shopping with Amazon this year, make sure you check prices from other retailers before you check out, Amazon has been known to inflate the prices and slash it to regular retail price to make it look like you are getting a great deal. Also, last year Amazon was offering app only deals, so before you start shopping on Amazon, make sure you download their app to get even better deals!
As soon as the Black Friday ads are leaked I will let you guys know!
