DIY 2 Ingredient Lip Balm
Hey guys, I’m back with another great gift idea that you can make in a huge batch to add to gift baskets with just 2 ingredients! This DIY 2 Ingredient Lip Balm is so simple to make. I love making my own products especially giving them as gifts, nothing says thoughtful as much as a homemade gift! This would be perfect for Mother’s Day in a spa themed gift basket, stocking stuffers or for teachers during the holidays! Scroll to the bottom for ideas to add to a basket!
You can add food coloring to change up the colors, you can also add essential oils for some flavoring! Make sure if you do add essential oils, that you add the ones that can be ingested, not all of them are safe to ingest. I chose not to add any food coloring or essential oils to mine to keep it strictly at 2 ingredients!

This recipe is enough for 2 tins.
You can use beeswax blocks but beeswax takes a long time to melt, so by using the pellets it takes less time.
Step 1:
Boil water over high heat with a mason jar in the pan. You can use a large bowl if you prefer but I chose the mason jar because it’s less of a clean up! Beeswax gets very messy and sticky, so I use one mason jar for all my beeswax making projects. If you use a bowl, you will not be able to reuse it.
Step 2:
Once the water boils, lower the heat to medium and add your beeswax and shea butter. The beeswax will take about half and hour to melt, if you’re using beeswax blocks, it’ll take longer. Carefully stir occasionally with a spoon you will no longer use.
Step 3:
When all the beeswax is melted, carefully pour your melted mixture to empty lip balm containers or tubes. You have to work fast here because everything will start to solidify fast. If you do add essential oils, make sure to add it to the melted mixture before you pour the mixture in the containers.
Step 4:
Put all your containers in the fridge for about 2 hours to really let the mixture solidify. You have to heat it up a bit with your fingers, gently rub your fingers on the lip balm to put on, shea butter melts with heat. This would be better with lip balm tubes but I was working with what I had at home! If you do use tubes, use a funnel to make for easier pouring!
How great was that?! Now you have homemade lip balms without all the harmful ingredients and you know exactly what you’re putting on your body! Yes, it does take a while to make but it’s so worth it!
