I did make a DIY 2 Ingredient Lip Balm way back when, and I absolutely love that one, but I wanted something not as thick and creamy so I decided to make this one and I absolutely love it!!!! This Homemade Peppermint Lip Balm is super moisturizing and is perfect for the cold air! I sometimes also use this for my hands! I LOVE LOVE LOVE making my own products because I know what I’m putting on my body and it’s so fun and simple to do! Who doesn’t love receiving these as gifts?! I already did have all the supplies I needed to make these on hand, so it didn’t cost me anything to make. If you do need to buy all of these supplies, it’ll cost about $30. I know it does sound like a lot, but it will get you a long way with how little of the ingredients you actually need to make these lip balms. You will have more than enough to make the other products at the bottom of the page!

I do have the links provided below to show you where I got it from and what I used. If you don’t have any essential oils on hand, check out this recipe: Homemade Organic Lip Balm.
This recipe is enough to make 4 tubes of lip balm. You can double or triple the recipe if you need to make more, just keep in mind it will take longer for the beeswax to melt.
[recipe-notes] [recipe-ingredients]
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
1/2 Tablespoon Coconut Oil (here)
1/2 Tablespoon Beeswax Pellets (here)
1/4 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil (here)
4 Drops Ginger Oil (here)
3 Drops Clove Oil
2 Drops Cinnamon Oil (here)
2 Drops Orange Oil (here)
Lip Balm Tubes (here)
Plastic Syringe or Eye Dropper*
Small Microwaveable Bowl
*I used a plastic syringe that comes with infant medicine.
[/recipe-ingredients] [/recipe-notes]Step 1:
In a small microwaveable small, heat your beeswax pellets until it’s melted. I heated mine in increments of 45 seconds. By the third time, it was almost all melted and that’s when I added the coconut oil to the bowl with the beeswax pellets and heated it for an additional 45 seconds. Once everything is melted add the Vitamin E oil and essential oils.
Step 2:
Use a syringe or eye dropper to suck up the liquid and carefully add it to the lip balm tubes.
Step 3:
Put the lip balm tubes in the fridge for 30 minutes to harden up. After the 30 minutes, you will have homemade lip balm ready for use! How easy was that?! I added these printables that I made with DIY Mod Podge. Click here for the free printable: Gingerbread Lip Balm
