DIY Lavender Body Scrub
Hey guys, I’m back with another great gift idea, this DIY Lavender Body Scrub is the perfect gift to make in under 10 minutes! Chances are, you probably already have the supplies in your kitchen. Yes, in your kitchen! This is so much more cost effective than going out and buying a store bought fancy scrub that is loaded with harsh chemicals and preservatives. All the ingredients in this scrub are food items you can eat! You know what you’re putting on your skin and if you had to buy all the supplies for this it would cost about $20. For $20, you can make so much of this for yourself or for a gift!
This scrub is made with sugar, lavender essential oil, extra virgin olive oil, and organic coconut oil. If you don’t have the lavender essential oil on hand, you could omit the oil or add a different oil that you prefer. I use lavender because I love the smell of it and I find it very soothing! You see what the ingredients are?! Sugar, coconut oil, and extra virgin olive oil-everyone has that at home! This is such a nice homemade gift with ingredients you already have in your kitchen that doesn’t cost a fortune. You could also keep the cost lower if you don’t have essential oils, and you don’t need a fancy jar to store it in, you could use a mason jar.
Relaxes and helps with sleep
Sugar is a great exfoliator and is also gentle enough to use on your face, coconut oil contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and is also very nourishing for your skin. Olive oil acts as an antioxidant and some research says putting olive oil on your skin after sun exposure may help fight off cancer causing cells. Now, when you combine all these ingredients together, you have a super moisturizing exfoliator that leaves your skin silky smooth!

All the links are linked to the exact product I used. For a great money saving tip, buy extra virgin olive oil at Costco, it’s by far the cheapest per ounce! You can read that article here: Top 10 Items To Buy At Costco, and if you don’t have a Costco membership, read here: 8 Tips For Non Costco Members
- 2 Cups Sugar (here)
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil (here)
- 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (here)
- 20-30 Drops Lavender Essential Oil (similar here)
- Empty Glass Jar (similar here)
This is enough to make 16 oz.

STEP 1:
Heat the coconut oil in the microwave in increments of 10 seconds to fully melt the coconut oil until it turns into liquid.

STEP 2:
Combine the sugar, coconut oil, olive oil and lavender essential oil together and mix well. Once that is mixed, pour the mixture into an empty glass jar. I found this jar at Hobby Lobby years ago and have always used it to store sugar scrubs!
