Turmeric Tea
Hey guys, I’m back with another great drink recipe! This Turmeric Tea is a great way to boost your immune system. I’ll be honest, it took some time to get used to the taste of this drink, but once you get past the spiciness of the turmeric, you’ll get used to it! I drink this every morning once a day. All of these ingredients have so many health benefits which I will explain below.

I found the honey at Costco, if you cannot find the Honey Citron & Ginger Tea at Costco, you can also find it on Amazon. You could also substitute the honey citron & ginger tea for raw unfiltered honey or pure maple syrup. I do buy those items at Costco because it’s so much more cost efficient. I have tried this tea with both the honey and the maple syrup, but I do prefer the honey citron & ginger tea the best because it already has the ginger in it. If you do use the regular honey and maple syrup make sure you add one slice of fresh ginger to your tea.
It is very important to use honey or maple syrup to your tea, because turmeric is fat soluble – meaning it dissolves in fats. If you do not add a fat to your tea, the turmeric has a hard time making it to your liver and stomach, so you’ll wind up absorbing only a little turmeric. Also, this particular turmeric powder contains black pepper extract, which contains a compound called piperine, which will help with the metabolic breakdown of turmeric compounds in the liver and stomach. I know all this information seems a little daunting and sounds like a science lesson, but the better we understand how things work, the more effective it will be!

So, now when you combine all then ingredients together, you have a powerhouse of healing ingredients to help boost your immune system! I swear by turmeric that it helps with inflammation, some studies show that turmeric has more anti-inflammatory properties than ibuprofen. I work out a lot and switch up my workouts a lot, and I really believe that I don’t get as sore because of the daily intake of turmeric.

STEP 1:
Boil 2 cups of water and add the honey mixture, apple cider, vinegar, turmeric, and lemon. Stir well to combine everything. You will need to constantly stir your drink because the turmeric will settle on the bottom of the mug. You can see that I have lemon essential oil in the picture, due to the situation right now I cannot get my hands on fresh lemons, so this will have to substitute! I would not recommend drinking the essential oils-there is still some debate on whether that is safe for internal use.
STEP 2:
Enjoy! It may take a little getting used to this but the long term benefits will pay off!
