DIY Lava Lamp
Hey guys, I’m back with another great and easy craft for the kids to make! This DIY Lava Lamp is sure to please kids of all ages and keep them entertained for hours! Being stuck in the house, I have had to be creative with ideas to keep the kids entertained while doing this with supplies we had in the house, and if we did not have the supplies-it had to be cheap!
Amazon has been a life saver for me! I was able to order all my supplies for the crafts I’ve been doing with the kids, at a very reasonable price. I had all the supplies for this except for the alka seltzer, which is a must for this project. It’s what will cause the colored bubbles to float around. Chances are, you already have all the ingredients in your house. You will need an empty water bottle, vegetable oil, water. and food coloring.

STEP 1:
Fill your water bottle with 1/4 cup of water, I used a Core water bottle for this, you can also use a mason jar for this. Add the vegetable oil to the water and let that sit for a few minutes, you want the water and the oil to separate. After a few minutes you can add the food coloring.
STEP 2:
Break up the alka-seltzer and drop it into the water mixture, and now you have your own homemade lava lamp! I intentionally bought a huge package of alka-seltzer so the kids would be entertained for awhile!
