DIY Rae Dunn Inspired Ornaments

25 Days of Christmas, Day 15

Hey guys, I’m back with another easy Christmas craft! These DIY Rae Dunn Inspired Ornaments are so easy to make! I did use my Cricut Joy to make these, but if you have steady hands you could easily make this without a Cricut.

I decided to make these for some of my kids teachers and I am going to fill the inside with this DIY Rose Petal Bath Soak.  This year has been a little different to say the least! When my kids went back to school they got their regular teachers on top of 5 auxiliary teachers each, that is a lot of gifts to gift! I am so grateful for these teachers. I really wanted to give them something special without spending a fortune!

All of the teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure the kids are happy and they have done a fantastic job! So to show my appreciation I thought a nice homemade gift filled with a little pampering would be fitting, and this is what I came up with.

Everyday from December 1st to Christmas day, I will be showing you all Christmas crafts, offering a free printable or a favorite Christmas recipe! Make sure to check back everyday for those posts, or better yet-sign up for my emails so you don’t miss anything! For yesterday’s post, read here: DIY Bracelet.

*I have heard of people using the ”Skinny” font from DaFont.com but I have never used DaFont.com them before so I can’t speak for them. I have also heard the font is free for personal use. I just really like FontBundles.net so I stick with them!

I bought the ornaments from Hobby Lobby back in October but when I went in the other day, there was no Christmas items anywhere in the store! I checked their site and I couldn’t find them so I did link up to something similar.

First upload you font of choice into Cricut Design Space and type out the words you want. I chose Joy, Noel, Peace, Believe, Hope and Faith.

To upload your font, you first need to extract the zip folder, you can do that by right clicking on the folder the font came in. Once the font is extracted, right click it again and click on install. If you do have Design Space open, make sure you refresh the screen or Cricut will not see you have that particular file.

Now go to text and type the word you want, highlight the word and choose System on top and you will see your uploaded font there.

Once all your words are printed, weed out the vinyl and put transfer tape on top and scrape really well. I cut little slits in between the letters of the words so it would transfer easier. You can see that in the picture below.
