Sugared Cranberries
25 Days of Christmas, Day 17
Hey guys, I’m back with a easy recipe! These Sugared Cranberries are perfect as a snack or garnish a dessert. You can even use these cranberries as a garnish with these drinks: Sparkling Cranberry Mocktail, and here: Spiced Cranberry Cider.
I’m sure if you been following me for awhile you might have figured out by now I love cranberries, there is just something about them. Cranberries scream holidays to me, so I get very excited when I see them in store!
Two ingredients is all you need to make these pretty bite sized snacks.
Everyday from December 1st to Christmas day, I will be showing you all Christmas crafts, offering a free printable or a favorite Christmas recipe! In a medium saucepan make a simple syrup of 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a simmer. Keep stirring until all the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let that cool for 10 minutes.
Add 1 cup of fresh cranberries at a time to the saucepan making sure to coat all the cranberries in the simple syrup. Remove the cranberries using a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack. I lined a cookie sheet with wax paper, and placed the wire rack on top the cookie sheet so I wouldn’t have a big sticky mess everywhere! Let the cranberries dry for 1 hour.
In another cookie sheet add the remaining sugar and add your coated cranberries. Make sure all of the cranberries are covered in sugar. Using a slotted spoon, scoop up the cranberries and gently shake off the excess sugar. Put the cranberries back on the wire rack to allow them to dry again.
You could store these in an air tight container for 1 week.
Make sure you guys sign up for my emails so you never miss another great post! Don’t worry I won’t clutter your inbox with junk everyday, only twice a week!
