Homemade Cranberry Jam
25 Days of Christmas – Day 11
Homemade Cranberry Jam makes for an ideal gift and it’s great for the holidays. Add a jar of this along with a loaf of bread for a hostess gift!
You only need several ingredients and about 15 minutes. I chose to add warm spices to the jam, but you can omit the spices.
This cranberry jam has the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, combined with cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, it makes for the perfect Christmas flavor! Cranberry jam can be used on toast, bagels, muffins, bread, and cheesecake.
There is no fancy equipment needed to make this cranberry jam recipe, just your stove!

TIP: You can buy extra bags of cranberries to freeze, when ready to make this, defrost the cranberries at room temperature.
STEPS:
Chop the cranberries to a medium dice, I used avoid chopper for this.
Combine the chopped cranberries, sugar, honey, spices, and water in a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring occasionally. Lower heat and simmer until the mixture is thickened, about 10 minutes.
Let the jam cool to room temperature for an hour, and pour into jars. This cranberry jam will stay fresh for 2 weeks in the refrigerator. You can freeze it, and it will last for 6 months.
