Homemade Goats Milk Soap
25 Days of Christmas – Day 17
Goats Milk Soap is a beautiful and easy gift to make. This isn’t like making regular soap where is you have to deal with lye, especially having little kids in the house, it’s not really practical for me to make. I love how easy this is to make.
I used essential oils, and vitamin E oil for this. You can customize this with different blends of oils, carrier oils, or butters. You can get even fancier than me and use different soap molds!
I like to add Vitamin E oil to my homemade products because it acts as a preservative ensuring a longer shelf life. Vitamin E oil is also know for its moisturizing, and repairing properties.
To kick off the Christmas spirit, I will be sharing with you homemade gift ideas or a favorite Christmas recipe! These posts will run everyday for 25 days. STEPS:
Cut the soap base into 1″ squares.
Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval. Continue until just melted. Don’t overcook it!
After it’s melted, add the vitamin E oil, stir, then add the essential oils. Do not heat the essential oils with the soap base. Essential oils cannot take high heat, it’ll lose the smell if it’s too hot.
Pour the soap base into the soap molds. If bubbling does occur, fill a spray bottle with 99% isopropyl alcohol, and spray.
Let it cool completely before removing from the soap molds. I let mine cool overnight.
You could throw this soap into a gift basket along with this Christmas Hand Scrub, Homemade Foaming Hand Soap, and this DIY Cuticle Oil for an affordable and last minute gift!
