Homemade Chex Mix
This Homemade Chex Mix is a hit with the family, and friends. You could prepare this in advance for your next gathering, or to bring to a friends house.
There are a few ways to make Chex mix and I think the oven baking is so simple, and the best way. You cook it at a very low temperature, stirring the mixture every 20 minutes, it is easy to keep an eye on it to prevent burning/overcooking.
Some recipes have you melt the butter, and pour it over the ingredients. I have tried it that way, and it’s too soggy. The oven method is more time consuming, but so worth it in the end!

STEPS:
- Preheat the oven to 250°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the butter, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and Tabasco sauce. Stir well to combine. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring between, until the butter is melted.
- In a separate bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, and pretzels. Toss everything to combine.
- Now, pour half of the butter mixture over the Chex mixture and gently toss to coat. Pour in the remaining butter mixture and gently toss again so all the pieces are evenly coated.
- Bake, stirring every 15 minutes, until lightly browned and crisp, 45 to 50 minutes total. Let cool for 10 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.
You can store this in an airtight container for 1 week.
